Description
A rich and flavorful side dish that transforms humble cabbage with a creamy garlic butter sauce.
Ingredients
Scale:
1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup heavy cream
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 medium head of green cabbage, cut into wedges
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Cut the cabbage into wedges, ensuring each wedge remains intact at the core.
In a large bowl, drizzle the olive oil over the cabbage wedges. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika (if using). Toss gently to coat each wedge evenly.
Place the seasoned cabbage wedges on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Roast in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through cooking.
While the cabbage is roasting, prepare the creamy garlic butter sauce. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 2 minutes until fragrant.
Stir in the heavy cream and season with salt and pepper. Let the sauce simmer for 3-5 minutes until it thickens slightly.
Once the cabbage is done roasting, remove it from the oven and transfer the wedges to a serving platter. Drizzle the creamy garlic butter sauce generously over the cabbage.
Finish with a sprinkle of chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese (if desired) and serve immediately.
