  1. Heat a large, deep skillet or pot over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil until it shimmers.
  2. Season the steak pieces with salt and pepper. Add the steak to the skillet in a single layer and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium and sauté the minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth and bring to a simmer. Stir in the orzo and Italian herbs.
  5. Cover and cook the orzo for about 8-10 minutes until al dente.
  6. Reduce heat to low and stir in the heavy cream and butter until melted and combined.
  7. Add the cooked steak back along with grated Parmesan, stirring to heat through.
  8. Adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper, and garnish with parsley before serving.
