Description
A classic comfort food that’s perfect for family gatherings or a cozy dinner at home, yielding tender, juicy, and flavorful beef brisket that simply falls apart.
Ingredients
Scale:
4-5 lbs beef brisket, preferably with a good layer of fat for optimal flavor and moisture retention
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
1 tablespoon salt
1 cup beef broth
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons soy sauce
Chopped fresh parsley (for topping)
Sliced green onions (for topping)
Instructions
Trim excess fat from the beef brisket, leaving about 1/4 inch for flavor. Pat the brisket dry with paper towels.
In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and salt. Mix well.
Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket, ensuring an even coating. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
In the slow cooker, whisk together beef broth, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce.
Place the seasoned brisket in the slow cooker, fat side up. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until fork-tender.
Once cooked, remove the brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest for at least 15-20 minutes before slicing. Cut against the grain.
